HDHPs typically offer lower monthly premiums than traditional health plans.
Employees take responsibility for most initial health care expenses until they meet their deductible. As they use their HSA to help fund their care, they gain a material incentive to stay healthy and make prudent use of the health care system.
HSA options are available for both HMO and POS plans.
